I took this shot this summer in Harlem, New York. I waited outside Tonnie’s Minis (munching on one of their fab red velvet cupcakes, of course) for this nice woman to come out. It was all part of my greater scheme to ask if I could take her portrait. She was slightly unsure at first, but agreed. This is one of my favorite street portraits partly because it has a vintage quality that has to do with the subject rather than the processing.
